Community Update Autumn 2019
At Legal & General Homes, we understand that communication is key to our local residents, so we put the utmost importance on providing regular updates to anyone who may be affected by the construction of our developments.
Whilst our team work hard to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum, we would also like to thank residents for their patience and understanding.
Old Wokingham Road
At this time no works are planned by Legal & General Homes on Old Wokingham Road.
Watercourses and ponds
An existing brook crosses our development, leaving the site on Old Wokingham Road. The in-flow of surface water into our development varies significantly depending on the weather and this will affect the flow as it leaves the site. We’re continuing to actively monitor and manage the water flows and quality on a daily basis.
House building – Phase 1
The construction of our new homes continues to progress well with approximately 90 properties now completed and a further 30 under construction.
We have new homes under construction at different stages of build from foundation to internal fit-out, and we have approximately 150 tradespeople on site each day, with parking facilities provided on site.
House building – Phase 2
Construction of our phase 2 homes is now progressing well with 10 properties completed and a further 40 under construction.
We are pleased to have welcomed our first residents to the new phase and anticipate a number of further new homes being completed this year.
Our Visitors Centre is on Old Wokingham Road, we’re pleased to report high levels of interest in our new homes.
SANG (Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace)
Buckler’s Forest is now fully open with a number of circular routes and walks available.
Legal & General Homes and the team have been working hard to make a difference to the community around Buckler’s Park as part of our commitment to Social Value. The Legal & General Grant Q3 winner was Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, with runners up Grow Baby and DEBRA.
Please come in and vote for your favourite charity.
Security and site safety
Our site is patrolled by security out of work hours. We would, however, like to take this opportunity to remind residents that whilst all reasonable precautions are taken, building sites can seem exciting to children but they can be dangerous places.
As ever, we would, therefore, ask parents to ensure their children are made aware of the dangers and are instructed not to enter the construction site at any time unless doing so under the full supervision of our site staff and wearing full personal protective equipment.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank residents for their patience and understanding with us whilst we undertake the development. Our team will be working hard to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum always.
