Shrivenham

Overview

We are delighted to be developing the land to the north of Shrivenham, east of Highworth Road bordered by the A420 and Pennyhooks Lane.

The proposals meet the growing demand for housing by providing 515 much-needed high quality homes, inlcuidng affordable homes. In addition to the new homes, the plans provide numerous community benefits such as;

  • Land for a primary school
  • A new road junction to improve traffic flow on the A420
  • Public open space
  • A convenience store

We have recently launched the Shrivenham Community Charter and would welcome any input to help prioritise the needs of the local community.

In 2017, outline planning permission was granted to deliver 515 new homes over two phases at Cross Trees Park, with detailed planning consent granted in 2018 for 240 homes and land for a primary school as part of Phase A.
Construction of phase A is now underway, and our Visitors Centre opened on site in June 2019.
We are now preparing detailed plans as a reserved matters planning application for 275 homes, green space and a convenience store for Phase B.
We are committed to engaging the local community as our plans progress at Cross Trees Park and would like your views on our plans for Phase B. Nearly 70 people visited our public consultation event on 12 July to view our plans, speak with the team and have their say.

We have recently completed a survey to help prioritise needs in the local community so that a Community Charter for Shrivenham can be developed. This platform will allow members of the local community and local businesses to track and measure activities and interventions that can address Shrivenham’s greatest needs. The platform will also include a Community Wishlist where locals, businesses and other stakeholders can share their needs and also contribute to the interventions for years to come.

We believe everyone has a part to play in making Shrivenham the best place possible place to live, learn and work and that everyone should do what they can in support of this goal. The purpose of this process is to identify the needs of the community and start prioritising specific opportunities to address those needs. Ultimately, we want the make sure that any support or resource that is directed to the Shrivenham community meets local needs as much as possible.

Legal and General Homes has appointed The Social Value Portal to create a Community Charter for Shrivenham as part of their work at Cross Trees Park. The first Community Charter and Wishlist in the UK was produced for the community in Crowthorne. This was driven by the Parish Council whilst being sponsored and supported by Legal and General Homes.
