One of our first residents at Buckler’s Park, Christina, spent nine months looking for a home near her family in Crowthorne that met her high standards.

Her wish list included a private garage, scenic view and a location that offered peaceful surroundings within a walkable distance to shops and cafes. “I knew what I was looking for and was prepared to shop around. I viewed several developments in the area and felt underwhelmed by all of them,” she told our team.

Thankfully, she found that Buckler’s Park exceeded her tough criteria and she purchased her first new build home from us in 2018.

New to new build

Christina hadn’t lived in a new build home before and renting one in nearby Winnersh had come with a number of problems, she says. “Something was always going wrong at the property I was renting and the lack of care and attention from the housebuilder’s customer service team on site was staggering – it made me quite miserable.”

It was like night and day when Christina arrived at Buckler’s Park. “I was immediately blown away – the staff in the Visitors Centre were all so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble,” she said. “They showed me the floorplans and the plot, which has a lovely view over Buckler’s Forest. I knew quite quickly that this was the place for me.”

In fact, everything at Buckler’s Park felt hassle-free for Christina – not just when she was making her purchase, but after she’d moved in too. “Older properties come with their own set of problems and the upkeep can become an expensive, full-time job. Now that I’m on my own, the Coach House is perfect for me,” said Christina. “The quality of finish – from the Bosch appliances to the Amtico flooring and fitted wardrobes – is exceptionally high and is all included in the sale price. When I viewed other developments, it was a very different story and everything, including the kitchen, carpets and landscaping, came at an additional cost. It made me feel uncomfortable and really put me off.”

“Having everything installed and working from day one made the move so easy. They even gave me an iPad loaded with a home demonstration video and all the instruction manuals for my new appliances. It has useful information like how to read the electricity meter and where to find the boiler all in one place and means I’ll never have to worry about losing the paper manuals. And the iPad’s mine to keep – I couldn’t believe it!”

It’s all a far cry from how Christina was feeling a year ago while living in her rented property. “I couldn’t be happier and a lot of that is down to everyone here – I know there is someone I can call 24 hours a day if I have a problem. I’d rate the level of customer service as 10 out of 10 without a doubt – and I’m not an easy person to please!”
