We know that buying a home can be stressful at the best of times and COVID-19 has meant that we’re all dealing with situations most of us have never faced before.

Our team at Legal & General Homes has been working hard to make sure people can continue the search for their dream home despite the extraordinary circumstances. Whatever stage you’re at in your homebuying journey, we’re here to help you.

Alongside our new LiveChat feature on our website that allows you to get in touch with one of the team instantly, we’re offering virtual tours of our homes too.

We have a number of 360° tours available so that without ever leaving your sofa, you can explore our two-, three- and four-bedroom show homes at our Buckler’s Park and Finchwood Park developments in Berkshire, as well as Cross Trees Park in Oxfordshire.

Like lots of things these days, this might be the first time you’ve done a virtual viewing, so we want to explain the process so that you know what to expect.

You can book a virtual viewing on our online or by calling the number listed for each development below. One of our sales team will talk to you about your requirements and which type of property you’re interested in looking around. Properties currently available to view include:

You will be sent a link which will take you to the online tour of your chosen home. You can then explore the house at your own pace, without having to download anything to your computer. One of the sales team can be online with you at the same time so that they can show you round and answer any questions you may have, such as details about the specification of the homes and what’s included. However, if you prefer to explore by yourself then please feel free to. We’ll send you a link so you can roam around to your heart’s content and we’ll be on hand afterwards should you need anything.

Unlike other new-build developers, what you see is what you get. That means that everything you see during our online tour is included in the price of the home (except the furniture!). There are no hidden costs: from the Bosch appliances, to the flooring and the garden turf – even the Hive smart thermostat. Plus, you’ll have a fast broadband connection wired direct to your home from move-in day, so your working from home routine can continue seamlessly in your new home.

All our online tours use real photographs, not indicative CGIs that have been photoshopped. This means you are able to see the actual fitting and finishing of our homes. You can see up close, what the kitchen worktops are like for example. While you won’t be able to touch them, because we use high-resolution photography you will be able to see the quality of our interiors.

The way you move around the houses is similar to ‘street view’ on Google Maps. You can view everything as you would if you were looking round in person, moving from room to room so that you get to understand the flow of the house. There is also a handy floorplan available so that you can see the layout and if you prefer, you can navigate to a specific room simply by clicking on it in the floorplan.

The beauty of our online tours is that they provide 360-degree views everywhere – you can literally look into every corner of our homes! So you can look down to see the carpet or check out where the appliances are. You can even look up to see the smoke detectors in the hallways. Best of all, you can step out into the garden, or onto your terrace and get feel for the landscaping – it will help you envisage what it would be like sitting having a cup of tea and reading the paper at the weekend!

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and when we’re planning our homes, we really think about the way people use and live in them, so we encourage our customers to take their time and ask any and all the questions they may have, however small. We know that buying a home is a big investment and can sometimes feel like a leap of faith, so it’s important that you feel comfortable and confident during the process and our team will help you every step of the way.

After you’ve finished your tour, one of our sales team will follow up with you to make sure you have everything you need. Our team is holding online meetings should you want to progress and reserve a plot. We have been in regular contact with our customers throughout lockdown and have completed online reservations, exchanged documents digitally and handled contactless key drop-offs to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff at all times.

Our Visitors Centres will re-open for appointments only very soon, so you are most welcome to come and visit our developments and have a look around – just give us a call first. Only two adults will be allowed at any one time, so a virtual viewing is the perfect way to explore our homes in the first instance with your whole family.

Please get in touch for more information or to speak with a member of the Legal & General Homes sales team to book a virtual tour of our homes at Buckler’s Park in Crowthorne, Finchwood Park in Finchampstead or Cross Trees Park in the Oxfordshire.
